Principal's Newsletter Message - November 2009

November is a perfect opportunity for me to express gratitude for the many people whose hard work and dedication make Bankhead Middle School such a special place.

We are so fortunate to have such an incredible staff...thank you for hard work and steadfast dedication to helping all students succeed.

To our wonderful parents...we so appreciate your support and partnership...it makes a BIG difference for your own child(ren) and for our whole school community.

WOW...our amazing students...we are so grateful that you work hard each day, taking risks, challenging yourselves, expanding your hearts and minds...and thank you also for being our best teachers; we learn something new from you every day...and that makes us better teachers.

To our dedicated support staff...a mere thank you is not adequate appreciation for your all your hard work...your amazing contributions (big and small) continue to inspire us.

We all have a shared commitment to student success. As we work actively and positively together, matching intention and action, so many great things will be possible.

Fall Reading Fair. Thank you to all parents who attended the Fall Reading Fair. We had great attendance and the students enjoyed earning the double AR Points with their parents. The Reading Fair was a great opportunity for us to make connections, share information and build partnership to support our students.

STI Home.   Sharing information is important component to student success. Parents are always welcome. Please call or come by and visit with us. I also would like to encourage all parents/guardians to view your students' progress online through STI Home. STI Home access information, student identification number and pin are available to parents through the school office. It is the school's responsibility to share information with parents regarding student progress (academic, social/behavioral, work habits, etc.). This enables parents to provide better support at home. We also rely on information from parents so that we can do our best work with students here at school. If there are changes in circumstances at home, or your child is sharing information with you that you feel we should know or if you have concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. It is our collective responsibility to work together as a team to help each student achieve to the best of his/her ability.

My sincere thanks to everyone again for all that you do for Bankhead Middle School.

I am grateful.

With Warm Regards,

Dr. Gypsy Stovall
